Strong dangerous aftershock in Kangding, Sichuan, China
Update 17:42 UTC : The Kangding airport has sustained some superficial damage, nobody was injured there

are still trying to find out how this earthquake impacted the region. As
it is late night in China and as this is an aftershock, reports will be
limited at this time. Stay tuned to get more information. We do expect
more injured people and a lot of additional damage

the shaking map and city shaking impact as reported by USGS. USGS made
their maps based on a Magnitude of M5.6 at a depth of 12 km. Although
less in intensity, the shallower depth they used can be counted as
similar to the M5.8 at 16 km from the Chinese authorities.

injured have been treated so far. All of them secondary injuries due to
panic when trying to escape their houses or flats when the shaking
started

was night in Kangding when it happened. People are now on the streets
out of fear for more aftershocks. The earthquake was felt strongly.
Update 15:51 UTC : The mainshock on Saturday killed 5 people, injured 65 and made a lot of damage to more than 26000 houses!

Chinese authorities are reporting a Magnitude M5.8 earthquake at a depth
of 16 km. Earthquake-report.com is convinced that also this earthquake
will be further damage the Kangding area. Additionally we have to
stipulate that the epicenter of this aftershock is closer to Kangding
which means that also damage is possible in Kangding itself.
