Die Freseros (Erdbeeren-Fresas- Freseros) werden etwa mit 0,30 € / kg Erdbeeren  berechnet, wenn nur die Produktionskosten und in Höhe von 0,90 € / kg angesetzt werden.  Die Trivialisierung des Produkts durch die Ketten des Einzelhandels und der Druck von Ländern wie Frankreich, fallen die Preise in den Keller.  Die spanische Provinz Huelva (Andalusien), die mit  96 % die spanische Erdbeer-Produktion bewirtschaft, berichtet, das hier 90.000 Arbeitsplätze zusammengebrochen sind oder unter Druck stehen, die unmittelbar mit der Erdbeerproduktion zusammenhingen.
