Since  fracking injection wells  started their work in Oklahoma, the state has become one of the most shaken in the world. Almost daily earthquakes are the price the people are paying for cheap energy. In the process of extracting oil and gas, energy companies also end up extracting a lot of underground water: for every quart of oil yielded, in fact, as much as a gallon of water gets sucked up out of the ground. Because this wastewater is salty, drillers can’t simply dump it into the nearest freshwater stream; instead, they typically inject it back into the formation, via deep wells that can extend anywhere from one to three miles below ground. Unfortunately, the study’s authors have found, these wastewater injections can agitate long-dormant faults, causing them to slip—and trigger an earthquake. Flutregen-Alarmstufe Rot bestand heute in Nîmes-(Südfrankreich) wo sich in verschiedenen Orten  das Regen und Flusswasser bis zu 3 cm-Meter pro m² am heutigen Freitagmorgen sammelte. Vierzig Personen wurden durch die Feuerwehr gerettet. Zehn mussten über Hubschrauber-Rettungsaktionen aus ihrer bedrohlichen Situation geholt werden. An der Uni mussten Studierende sich sammeln bis 14 Uhr, um zu sehen, wer fehlt. Menschen mussten fliehen vor den anrollenden Schlammlawinen. Viele Menschen verloren ihre Fahrzeuge, das Wasser und der Schlamm, alles kam viel zu schnell um noch etwas zu retten, berichten sie. Überraschenderweise kamen Güterzüge und Personen am Bahnhof von Nîmes ohne Probleme durch, fast so, als ob nichts geschehen wäre, nur wenige hundert Meter von den Überflutungen entfernt. Seltsame Situation wie man in Nimes an diesem Freitagmorgen erlebt hatte. Nîmes ist eine Stadt die zwischen zwei Höhen und Ebenen unterteilt ist.

In Spanien geht die Angst wegen einer möglichen Ebola-Infektionen um. Doch es gibt auch kritische Stimmen. Die Menschen gehen auf die Straße und protestieren.  "Die Regierung ist absolut inkompetent, deswegen protestiere ich", so die Krankenschwester Maria Agudo, die jetzt unter der  Ebola-Infektion leidet. Einige Spanier, besonders die Alten sagen, das ist eine Waffe gegen uns, erinnern an die verheerenden Auswirkungen der "Spanischen Grippe" die zwischen 1918 und 1920 wütete und mehrere Millionen Menschen umkamen.   Mehrere mögliche Ebola-Infektionen sind in den Augen der Öffentlichkeit bekannt. Bisher gibt es sechs Menschen, die in einem Madrider Krankenhaus überwacht werden und die Gesundheitsbehörden bestätigen, dass  eine "besondere Überwachung" für 52 Personen mehr  in Spanien stattfindet.
