Diese Finsternis wird sichtbar in teilweiser Form auf den Kanarischen Inseln, der einzige spanische Punkt, um dieses Ereignis zu sehen. Eine ringförmige Sonnenfinsternis tritt auf, wenn der Mond so weit von der Erde sich entfernt, dass die Größe des Durchmessers kleiner als die der Sonne ist. Im südlichen Teil von Afrika und in Ländern wie Brasilien und Australien, kann man diese Sonnenfinsternis besser beobachten. Es ist eine ringförmige Sonnenfinsternis und beginnt in der Morgendämmerung in Richtung Westafrika. Sie wird vom Festland nach Osten verschoben und wird schließlich nach dreieinhalb Stunden beendet sein.
