Die Abstimmung über eine mögliche Abspaltung Kataloniens von Spanien ist abgesagt. Bisher war für nächsten Monat eine Art Referendum geplant, bei dem die Katalanen ihre Meinung kundtun sollten. Die Zentralregierung in Madrid lehnt das aber ab; zuletzt untersagte auch das spanische Verfassungsgericht fürs erste eine Abstimmung. In der Bevölkerung war laut einer Umfrage die Begeisterung seitdem ebenfalls geschwunden. Die Eurogruppe zeigt sich besorgt darüber, dass Frankreich sein überhöhtes Defizit nicht in den Griff bekommt.
