Focal Mechanism of this earthquake shows a mainly Thrust earthquake. Update 09:50 UTC : As the initial hypocenter depth was mentioned at 55 km we could not see any serious damage risk. In the meantime the preliminary depth values have been updated to only a couple of km’s. This makes this earthquake really dangerous for potential serious damage and even injuries. Strong winds wreaked havoc across northern Utah on Tuesday, causing a deadly highway pileup, uprooting trees and briefly halting flights at Salt Lake City's airport. One person died and 25 were hurt in the pileup on I-80 near the Nevada border. (April 15)
