Er soll etwas größer und etwas kälter als die Erde sein: 500 Lichtjahre entfernt haben Forscher den nach ihren Angaben der Erde bislang ähnlichsten Planeten entdeckt. Der Himmelskörper wurde vom Kepler-Teleskop der US-Weltraumbehörde Nasa erspäht. Das Teleskop umkreist einen Stern im Sternbild Schwan in der Goldlöckchen-Zone. Ein Wissenschaftler der Nasa erklärte: "Wir haben einen Planeten entdeckt, der ungefähr die gleiche Größe wie die Erde hat und eine ähnliche Menge an Energie wie sie erhält, aber er umkreist einen völlig anderen Stern. Wir haben also vielleicht keinen 'Zwilling', sondern einen 'Cousin' der Erde gefunden."
