El portavoz del Ministerio de Defensa de Rusia, Ígor Konashénkov, ha recomendado a Washington que "calcule cuidadosamente" las posibles consecuencias de atacar a las fuerzas del Gobierno en Siria. Konashénkov ha comentado la información que ha aparecido en varios medios de comunicación occidentales influyentes sobre la discusión en la Casa Blanca sobre posibilidad de realizar ataques con misiles y aéreos contra las posiciones de las tropas sirias.
