Moderate harmless earthquake in Northern Italy (Lago di Garda en Verona area)
Earthquake-report
Update 18:37 UTC : The
INGV shaking map below is showing an epicenter in the middle of the lake
and a max weak shaking, which means in human terms luckily NO damage to
expect. The contrary would really surprise us.
Update 18:25 UTC : Be
prepared for some aftershocks (normally they will be a lot weaker but
exceptionally they might be even stronger). Read our How to prepare for an earthquake in case you are not sure what to do
Update 18:23 UTC : Based on our experience, we expect that a radius of max. 10 km around the epicenter could experience slight damage
Update 18:05 : ER does
not expect any serious damage from this earthquake. A lot of tourists in
the Italian art cities have certainly experienced an exciting event :).
We think however that due to the shallow hypocenter depth (2.6 km
preliminary) slight damage like cracks in walls, fallen tiles and even
landslides are a possibility.
