RNLI Flood Rescue Team evacuate residents in North Wales

Volunteers from the RNLI's Flood Rescue Team have been helping to evacuate people from their flooded homes in St Asaph, North Wales.

Hundreds of residents in St Asaph, North Wales, have been forced from their homes after the River Elwy reached record levels and surged through the town's flood defences.

Nine hundred properties in the beleaguered city of St Asaph in North Wales have been left uninhabitable after they were inundated by floodwater.

People were warned to leave another 500 homes in the city this morning after the river reached a record high, the Environment Agency said.

Residents are being asked to stay with friends and family until the risk subsides.
