Spanien:Starkes Erdbeben in Tomelloso-Albacete-M. 5.2

Der Nationale Seismic Network hat die Registrierung  eines Erdbebens am Montag um 17:16 Uhr in Ossa de Montiel bestätigt, in der Provinz Albacete, in der Nähe von Tomelloso, mit einer Magnitude von 5.2 auf der Richter-Skala. Nach dem neuesten Stand der korrigierten Schätzung. Das Erdbeben war nicht länger als 30 Sekunden, aber es wurde in mehreren Regionen von Spanien bemerkt: Madrid, Murcia, Kastilien-La Mancha und Valencia. Das Beben war etwa 10 Kilometer tief, nach den Quellen des Nationalen Geographischen Instituts, die darauf bestehen, dass es nur vorläufige Daten sind. Es ist zur Stunde nicht bekannt, ob das Erdbeben Schäden verursacht hat. Die Notfalldienste in  Madrid registrierten heute Nachmittag zahlreiche Anrufe, weil das Beben wurde in der  gesamten Gemeinschaft gespürt und bislang keine strukturellen Schäden verursacht.  
Eine der jüngsten Erdbeben in ähnlicher Größenordnung traten in Spanien am 11. Mai 2011 in der Stadt Lorca (Murcia), auf. Die Auswirkungen in der Region und in den Provinzen Almería, Albacete, Granada, Jaén und Málaga waren stark und es gab viele Zerstörungen in der Stadt Lorca und auch Verletzte. Es hatte eine Stärke von 5.1 auf der Richterskala, wurde aber Minuten später durch eine Größe 4.5 Erdbebens wiederholt. Es hat neun Tote und 324 Verwundete gebracht.

Madrid - Ha temblado la mesa, el ordenador, el agua. Segovia - Was in class and everything shook! Not strong enough to make us hide under our desks but still pretty shaky! Madrid - Shaking, noise of building (old, from 1920s), several seconds. Cobena - no damage to house or contents Madrid - There was a bang and suddenly everything shook. It stopped after a few seconds. Madrid - Light shaking in office. Everyone around felt it and began asking each other what it was. Segovia - the whole room sort of shifted, all the people sitting felt it but no the one person standing. Then, the building started to shake; some of my decorative figures fell down. Finally it finished after a few seconds.
