Red weather warning: storm whips up waves on Spain's North coast
Strong winds and high waves stroke Spanish Northern coast on Monday (March 3).
Red
weather warnings are in force on Tuesday in Cantabria, Galicia, the
Basque Country and Asturias, after strong winds of between 120km/h and
140km/h, rough seas and colossal waves stroke Spanish Northern coast.
In
A Coruna, waves reported up to 12 metres high and sea water flooded
into the seafront and the streets of the town. In Santander, waves
caused damages in the seafront
Asturias suffered the consequences
of the storm too. The coastal small town of Cudillero strong waves
broke down a quay wall. In Luanco, several families had to leave their
houses near the sea.
