UK weather: Cole Moreton's three-day flood diary
As more rain and storms ravage the flooded UK, Cole Moreton travels from
Surrey to Somerset over three days, visiting communities struggling
with the aftermath of the deluge.
The Telegraph's Cole Moreton
and photographer David Rose travelled from Surry to Worcestershire to
Somerset over the last week, speaking to people at some of the worst-hit
places.
They found anger and dismay among the flood victims,
frustration at the slow response by local councils and a widespread
scorn for politicians and their promises - but also a remarkable hidden
story of the so-called ordinary people who are doing extraordinary
things.
During their travels they also found an amphibious duck
boat coming to the aid of Wraysbury and Datchet communities along the
banks of the River Thames after they were forced to abandon their homes
following weeks of heavy rainfall.
