Monster waterfall thrills tourists in China

Heavy rains on the upper stream have metamorphosed the largest waterfall
on the Yellow River into a rampaging monster as the formerly segmented falls
joined force into a 300-m-wide cascade. The water flow at the Hukou of the Yellow River has recently reached more
than 1,500 cubic meters per second, because of heavy rainfalls and the large
amount
of water discharged by reservoirs on the upstream. The spectacular
view of the cascading has attracted many visitors to Jixian
County in Shanxi, where the Hukou is. As the second largest waterfall in China, Hukou is a famous attraction in the
Yellow River's middle reaches, where the river's width abruptly narrows to less
than 30 meters.
